Submitted your application for term life insurance? Here's what happens next!

The application process varies in length, ranging from immediate approval to significantly longer, depending on underwriting.

What to expect

Once your application is submitted, it will follow one of three paths:


1. Instant decision

In some cases, you’ll receive an offer for coverage immediately after submitting your application. This allows you to review your offer and activate coverage right away.


2. Not eligible to apply

In some cases, we may determine right away that you’re not eligible for this specific term life policy.

  • You’ll be notified immediately

  • Your application will not move forward to underwriting

💡 This is not the same as being declined after a full underwriting review. No additional evaluation has taken place at this stage.

We will also show you alternative coverage options that could better fit your needs.


3. Additional review (underwriting)

If an immediate decision can’t be made, your application will be reviewed by our underwriting team.

During this process, we may request additional information, such as:

  • Follow-up questions

  • Identity verification documents

  • Medical records

In some cases, a health exam may also be required. If a health exam is needed:

  • The exam is free

  • A licensed professional will come to your home or workplace

  • You’ll be able to schedule a time that works for you


Final decision

Once the review is complete, we’ll notify you of the outcome via email. If approved, you’ll receive an offer for coverage. If we’re unable to offer coverage, you’ll receive a formal decision letter in your account with more details.
