To close your child’s UGMA investment account:
Log in to your account and head to "My Account."
Click on the account you wish to close.
Look for three dots at the top right, click on them, then select "Account details."
Choose the option "Close UGMA account."
A chat window will appear; Select Close my kid’s investment account and follow the prompts to submit your request.
Once your request is submitted, our team will review and process the closure. It can take up to 14 business days for funds to be returned to your linked bank account.
Note that your investments must be sold to pull them out of the market and make the funds available for transfer to your bank. Depending on market conditions at the time the account is closed and the assets liquidized, the amount you receive may vary from the amount shown in your account dashboard.
Important: Once closed, a UGMA kid's investment account can't be reopened. You'd need to start with a new account.
If you started an account by mistake
If you’re closing a duplicate or accidental account:
We can close the account for you
However, it will still appear in your account view
Note: Even after closure, the account will remain visible in your account, but it is no longer active.
